Welcome to Sunnybrae Bed and Breakfast - in The Heart of the Scottish Borders.
The House. The original part of Sunnybrae was built in the late 18th Century on land from the Pringle estates to house the manager of the Mill (now converted) down in the valley. The view from the sitting room looked down on the Mill's main entrance with its large clock and it is said that the manager could see who was arriving late without leaving home. Just over 100 years later Sunnybrae was extended and refurbished to provide the accommodation now available. Since taking over 5 years ago we have upgraded the facilities to gain and keep our Scottish Tourist Board 3 Star rating. We have also added a private Car Park at the bottom of the garden which is accessed from the road running down to the Gala Water.
Your Hostess - Anges Anderson. Having spent 16 years on the outskirts of London bringing up a family and coping with all the friends the children invited home from college, Agnes decided she would enjoy the challenge of setting up and running her own B and B business. After a 3 year try out just outside Edinburgh she decided that the present place gave her the right sort of challenge. Besides the STB 3 Stars the comments in the Visitors Book show that she's got what it takes to meet the challenge. Why not give us a try! When he is available my husband Dave likes to help out and greet our guests. He is also our resident odd-job man for house and garden. |
